New York

Medium: Oil on canvas
Size: 30 × 40 cm
Year: 2024

This 2024 urban landscape, oil on a 30 by 40 centimeter canvas, captures a city scene entitled “New York.” The composition relies on the verticals of massive skyscrapers that form a street canyon-like effect. The palette is built on a monochromatic scale, dominated by dense shades of gray, graphite, and black, through which white and ochre vertical brushstrokes emerge. The lower portion of the painting is concentrated with vibrant color accents—yellow taxi cabs, red and white car silhouettes, and traffic lights. The roadway is rendered with glossy, fluid strokes that create the effect of a wet surface reflecting the vehicle lights. The thick texture of the brushwork creates a tangible, relief-like canvas surface, conveying the dense atmosphere of a rainy metropolis.
